Best Boutique Hotels in Gozo - Quick Answer

How long should you stay in Gozo?

This is a question we get asked a lot as many people tend to prefer embarking on day trips to Gozo from Malta, rather than staying on the island itself.

We always think this doesn’t do the island of Gozo justice because there is so much to do and see on the island. Not only that, but it’s also far less crowded than Malta and is the perfect place to spend a relaxing week in the sun, away from the hustle and bustle.

So, in terms of how long you should stay in Gozo, we recommend a minimum of 3 days but if you can, try to extend it to 7 days. As we say, there is just so much to do in Gozo and it would be a real shame to spend a day here and miss out on everything the island offers.

Using Gozo as a base for your swimming, snorkelling and diving adventures is also a real treat and only adds to the appeal of staying in Gozo for longer.

Is it better to stay in Malta or Gozo?

Another question we get asked a lot is whether it is better to stay in Malta or Gozo? Well, this is of course, all down to personal preference.

If you prefer a lively atmosphere and plenty of choices for restaurants and bars, then the main island of Malta is certainly better. If, on the other hand, you prefer a peaceful and relaxing holiday with a more authentic, local feel, then staying in Gozo is definitely the best choice.

On top of that, Gozo is also home to some of the most unspoilt coastlines and beaches in all of Europe - which in itself is a great reason to stay on the island of Gozo. Besides, as you will find out in the article, there are so many great hotels in Gozo so why would you want to stay anywhere else?
