How long is the journey from Seoul to Everland?

The journey from Seoul to Everland can vary depending on how you decide to get to Everland and the traffic conditions on any given day. Having said that here is a rough estimate for the journey time between Seoul and Everland:

  1. By Car/Taxi/Shuttle Bus: The journey from Seoul to Everland by car, taxi or dedicated shuttle bus usually takes around 1 to 1.5 hours.

  2. By Public Transport (Bus or Subway): public transportation from Seoul to Everland involves a combination of taking the subway and a free shuttle bus. First, you would take the subway to Jeondae-Everland Station (Yongin EverLine) or Giheung Station (Bundang Line). From there, you transfer to the free Everland shuttle bus, which takes you directly to the theme park. The total travel time by public transport is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, but remember this is again dependent on where in the city you begin your journey from.

Shuttle Bus/Transfer to Everland from Seoul: Everland Transport Options

There are several dedicated shuttle bus transfers from the centre of Seoul to Everland Theme Park, but the shuttle bus we recommend is bookable through Klook - a dedicated activity-booking website operating throughout South Korea. 

The Seoul-Everland Shuttle Bus has 7 different pick-up locations throughout Seoul (from 9-10am every day). It allows for a full day of exploration in Everland, with the return journey to Seoul departing daily at 6:30pm.

The shuttle bus round-trip from Seoul to Everland will cost in the region of 9000 KRW - 12000 KRW (£6-8/$7-9) depending on which stop you get on the bus.

It is worth noting that the Shuttle Bus to Everland from Seoul is a paid service, whereas the free shuttle bus from the last stop on the Everline Subway Line is a free service that only takes you from the subway station to the entrance of the park.

Driving from Seoul to Everland 

If you are renting a car in Seoul and want to drive to Everland, here are the main directions to follow: 

  1. Head southwest on the Gyeongbu Expressway (Highway 1) or Olympic Expressway (Highway 88), depending on when you begin your journey in Seoul. It is worth noting that both these highways are well-marked and have signs in both Korean and English.

  2. Continue on the Gyeongbu Expressway or Olympic Expressway until you reach the Suwon Interchange. Take the exit for Suwon before merging onto the Suwon Ring Expressway (Highway 51), heading South.

  3. Stay on the Suwon Ring Expressway (Highway 51) until you reach Yongin City. At the Yongin Interchange, take the exit and merge onto the Yongin-Seoul Expressway (Highway 50), again heading South.

  4. Continue on the Yongin-Seoul Expressway (Highway 50) until you see the signs for Everland. The Theme Park itself is located in the city of Yongin, which is about 40 km south of Seoul.


Parking at Everland

There are well-marked free car parks once you arrive at Everland - simply follow the signs to the allotted parking spaces. If the main parking areas are full, Everland staff will direct you to the nearest available parking. 

Alternatively, Everland also offers a Valet Parking service for 15000 KRW (£9/$11) where dedicated staff will park your car for you - for Valet Parking, follow the signs for ‘MA Parking’.

A free shuttle bus service operates from both regular and valet parking to take you from the parking area to the entrance of the Everland Theme Park.

Taxi from Seoul to Everland 

Alternatively, and perhaps a more popular choice for those wanting to drive to Everland, is to grab a taxi from Seoul. You can do this by either flagging down a taxi in Seoul (they are readily available from dedicated taxi stands, outside major tourist stops, or your hotel/accommodation can book them for you) or by using a dedicated taxi app.

The best taxi app to use for people without a Korean number is usually Kakao T (Formerly Kakao Taxi), and it happens to be one of the best apps to use in Korea.

It isn’t easy to provide an accurate fare rate for the taxi between Seoul and Everland, as this will vary greatly depending on the traffic and where in Seoul you are getting the taxi from. In general, however, we would suggest a taxi from Seoul to Everland will cost somewhere in the region of 40000 KRW - 60000 KRW (£25-35/$30-45).

Taking Public Transport to Everland 

The best public transport option for getting to Everland from Seoul is to take the Subway. Here is a quick rundown of the best way to get the Subway to Everland: 

  1. Take the Subway to Giheung Station on the Bundang Line before transferring to the Everline.

  2. Get off at the last stop of the Everline at the Jeondae-Everland Station.

  3. Outside the station, you will see several free shuttle buses to take you the rest of the way to Everland.

Everland is open daily throughout the year from 10am - 10pm and there are pay-per-use lockers available at the entrance for storing your luggage/items throughout the duration of your stay at the park.

We recommend purchasing an Everland Ticket online before you arrive at the Theme Park - this is an easy way to avoid the long lines at the entrance and get straight in without any hassle.

Tips for a smooth journey from Seoul to Everland

Best time of year to visit Everland 

Everland Theme Park is one of the best day trips from Seoul, so, naturally, it is a very popular thing to do for all visitors to South Korea’s dynamic capital city. Generally, the busiest times of year to visit Everland are around Christmas and New Year holidays and in the peak of Summer (June-August). 

To avoid the crowds, we would recommend visiting Everland in early Spring (March-April) or Autumn (September-October) - this way, you will be able to combine fewer crowds with good weather and often lower admission prices. 


How long do you need to spend at Everland?

This answer depends on how often you want to visit each attraction within Everland. If you are an adrenaline junkie that wants to go on rides all day, you could easily spend upwards of 8-10 hours at the park. 

Alternatively, if you are somebody who prefers walking around Theme Parks and generally just enjoying the sights from afar, then you can probably explore Everland within a modest 4-hour timeframe.
